During the 1990's and early 2000's the society was not active, but in 2006 it reformed with a new committee and the first Carmarthen Canine Society Open Show for approximately 10 years was held on the 27th December 2007 at the United Counties Showground Carmarthen.

Carmarthen is historically the oldest town in Wales. It is the site of strategic Roman and Norman settlements, and was granted a charter by King John back in 1201.

Welcome to the web-site of The Carmarthen Canine Society.

Carmarthen Canine Society was first established and registered with the Kennel Club in 1926.

Carmarthen also has its history steeped in Arthurian legend and Merlin is rumoured to have been born in a cave outside Carmarthen in 480. In the 12th -13th century a "Black Book" was written which tells of "Myrddin" (Merlin in Welsh) and prophesizes that "when Merlin's Oak shall tumble down then will fall Carmarthen Town."
